Long story short, I've begun a life changing weight loss journey. I gained all my weight from being a soda addict....4 cans a day since high school. It didn't hurt me until I quit playing basketball after my sophomore year of college, but it sure added up every year after that. Anyway, I'm super motivated, there is a girl involved, and I want to lose this quickly. I've completely stopped the soda and I'm working out 1-2 hours a day on an elliptical machine. My doctor said sure, work out 2 hours a day if you want, and there is no issue with losing it too quickly. However, my brother has warned me, saying that if you lose it too quickly like on the Biggest Loser, you permanently fuck up your metabolism for life. I've never known what to believe about anything related to weight loss, so I'm just trying to eat whole foods and bust my ass, and it's working. I can't seem to get a clear answer online as to the pace. I have a ton of momentum and I'm down to lose 100 pounds in 3 months.
I read some of the Mr hognuts walking thread, and saw Viejo Dinosaur lost like 100 pounds in 3-4 months. Viejo, any issues after? Just looking for the truth. Working out is easy and nothing but a mental challenge...I just don't want to fuck up my future, because now that the soda is gone, I want to be fit for the rest of my life, and I know that I can, if I don't screw my body up permanently.
